Top of PageAnyone who believes that a child may be at risk for any reason! This includes parents, organizations, non-profit groups or businesses with employees who interact with children. It even includes a single-parent mother who is concerned about a new dating partner.
You must
- BE 18 YEARS OR OLDER
- BE WILLING TO IDENTIFY YOURSELF
- HAVE A REASONABLE SUSPICION THAT A CHILD IS AT RISK
Phone number and hours of operation
To find out if someone you know is one of California's registered sex offenders who has victimized children, please call either 916-227-4974 or 916-227-3288. Hours of operation are 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
You need to have the person's name and any of the following:
- The person's address.
- The person's birthdate.
- The person's social security number.
- The person's California driver's license number.
If you don't have the above information you need to provide the person's name and at least five of the following identifiers.
- Height
- Weight
- Hair color
- Eye color
- Ethnicity/Race
- Description of scars, tatoos, or birthmarks
